For example, if you have the following directory on your computer: C:My DocumentsMy Pictures, once you share this directory, any pictures you place into this directory are instantly available to users visiting your server. There are no other steps required! Digital Media Server always works with the latest directory information. The choice of which directories to share is entirely up to you.

Digital Media Server makes it is easy to listen to your own music anywhere you are without downloading before you leave. For music, Digital Media Server presents a specialized album view that shows tracks and album art just like on your own computer.
