Description of Setup Packager
:
tarluck Setup Packager 3.0 provides developers with a solution for packaging one or more installation programs into a single self-extracting executable, suitable for Internet distribution. An easy to use wizard guides you step-by-step through the process of converting your installations into a single self-extracting .exe file. A variety of features are included for those who need them: digital code signing, password protection, expiration date, welcome prompt, nested packaging, and more. Key Features 4Bundle Multiple Installers into a Single EXE Setup Packager is designed so it can bundle multiple installation programs into a single self-extracting .exe. This can be useful when you are looking for an easy way to bundle a 3rd party installer (e.g. Windows Media Player runtime, Macromedia Flash runtime, etc.) with another existing setup program. 4Data Compression Reduces Size and Download Times Setup Packager applies data compression to your installation files so as to reduce the overall size of your single self-extracting .exe and provide faster download times. 4Small Overhead (about 100K or less) The self-extractor is written in tight C and C++ source code, so it's only about 100K in size. And because it uses data compression, it's possible for it to add zero or less overhead to the overall size of your installation. 4Authenticode. Digital Code Signing An Authenticode signature is like digital shrink-wrap for your software. It lets your customers know that the content of your package file is safe and hasn't been altered or corrupted. 4Password Protection You can optionally password protect your single-exe extractor, so that the user must provide the password to open the file. 4Expiration Date You can specify an expiration date for your package, so that users will not be able to open the file after that date. 4Custom Welcome Prompt You can create a welcome prompt for your package file (e.g. a welcome29.00 |
